Whitsundays Travel Guide

The Whitsundays is a group of 74 islands, making it the largest group of off-shore islands in Australia. They were named by Captain Cook in 1770 and are a popular place with couples looking for a luxurious romantic break and families wanting an exciting fun-filled holiday. Each of the islands offers a different holiday experience.

Daydream Island features an outdoor, man-made aquarium where visitors can learn about the fish species of the Great Barrier Reef. One of the main airports can be found on Hamilton Island. Here, visitors can take part in water sports or take day-trip cruises.

Another unusual holiday experience can be found on Lineman Island, where visitors have the chance to try the flying trapeze.
