China is one of the largest and oldest countries in Asia.  Chinese civilisation has offered the world many inventions such as paper, the printing press, the compass and gunpowder.  Of course, it is also known for its martial arts and delicious cuisine.

Located in the middle of the Asian continent, China is composed mainly of mountains and plateaus.  The major countries which border China are India, Russia, Korea, Vietnam, Pakistan and Mongolia.  By size, China is almost as big as the United States of America!

For the traveller, China's capital city, Beijing, is a welcoming city offering a wide variety options.  Combining the heritage of an ancient history with the excitement of a rapidly growing metropolis, Beijing has something for every mood or interest.
