For generations it has been delighting guests of all ages, with shows, rides, water parks, and so much more. Located just outside of Orlando, at Lake Buena Vista, it encompasses four theme parks. Fancy Florida
If its sun, sand and sea you are looking for then Miami is the place for you. Located on the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, Miami makes water activities very appealing. You can snorkel and scuba dive around the coral reefs of the Bay, or go boating, fishing, sailing and water skiing. Or if that all sounds far too tiring then lying on Miami Beach is the place for you, and keep your eyes pealed as you never know who or what you may see on one of Americas most popular beaches.

Another highlight here is the entertainment and nightlife. The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is the second largest centre in America, and there are many more opera houses, theatres, and outdoor venues that have entertainment for all tastes. And if you are into dancing the night away, Miami is the home of disco.

Fort Lauderdale sits 23 miles south of Miami and is known as the Venice of America, due to its extensive canals. Water sports and swimming here are wonderful due to the well maintained beaches and they are very safe for all ages. The river and beach promenades are exceptional to walk on and picnic by. Even if you don't like to swim you can find out all about it at the International Swimming Hall of Fame, where you can learn about the 400 inductees, the best and most famous swimmers in the world. Nightlife is very popular and abundant at Fort Lauderdale as well as eating out; there are over 4,000 restaurants here that cater for all tastes and families.

St Petersburg is also known as Sunshine City due to its average days of sunshine annually listed at 360. Families love the laid back feel of the city, the beaches and parks. Plenty of fun attractions here include Great Explorations, the children's museum and the Salvador Dali Museum which hosts Dali's largest collection outside of Europe. A trip to St Pete's though isn't complete without a walk along the famous St Petersburg Pier, especially at sunset.

St Petersburg is connected to Tampa Bay by the Howard Frankland Bridge and this area also has lots to offer families. The Lowry Park Zoo has over two thousand animals and if you like your creatures underwater the Florida Aquarium here has over 20,000 species of plants, fish and mammals. Adventure Island is a must see, it is a water park for all ages, set on 30 acres. Next to this water park is Bosch Gardens, don't be thrown off by the name it is not as peaceful as it sounds, this African themed park has some pretty thrilling roller coasters and rides, and yes there are African animals here as well.

Staying in Florida couldn't be easier, all groups and budgets are catered for in Hotels, Motels or Apartments. Self catering accommodation is very popular and many of the Theme Parks have a range of hotels on site, which makes it easy for families to get little ones straight home to bed after a very long, exciting day. If you want a little more luxury the Peabody Orlando may be more your style.

So, all that is left to do is throw in your swimmers, a hat and sunscreen and lots of energy and enthusiasm, as you will need it, and take the family on holiday to Florida.
