There is a wide selection to cater to every type of holiday whether it's a romantic break or an activity-packed vacation. If you're not self-catering, you can enjoy a meal at either of the town's two restaurants, or travel a short way down the road to Agnes Water for even more choice.

With the Great Barrier Reef just offshore and a choice of four National Parks in the nearby vicinity, 1770 is the ideal place to get back to nature. You can explore the reef and the rugged coastline in one of many charters or day tours that operate out of the town. The area is also renowned for its fishing and a tailored charter can be arranged from the 1770 Marina.

Walking and camping in one of the National Parks is a great way to see a bit more of the Australian wilderness and you can dine al fresco as you cook up some food on the barbecue and listen to the wildlife. You will need a four-wheel drive car to access the interior of the parks and you can either choose to hire a vehicle and drive yourself, or travel with an organised tour group.
